"Tyre abuse"

I went to my local Just Tyres tyre shop on 9/6/11 to get what i thought was a puncture checked out.

So whilst the young lad takes off the wheel to check the tyre, the older owner of the said establishment started inspecting my rear tyres.

Whilst sucking through his teeth he stated that i will need some new rear tyres.

I looked at them and stated that they where not yet down to the wear bars but admitted that in a few hundered miles I will probably need some.

Then I made the fatal comment, but when i change them i will go to 195/50/r16.

At this point he started with an aggressive lecture that 195/50/r16 were not designed for the car and that they souldnt be fitted.

I pointed out that his shop has been fitting a different size tyre to my micra for years, and besides 195/50/r16 is only 1% smaller than the 185/55/r16 fitted to the car.

Then getting even more aggressive he started having a go at me about lecturing him at his job, which he had been doing for 22 years.

so i stated the only reason that he was pushing the correct size tyre was because it was twice the price, and that i was not going to continue the conversation due to his aggressive behavior.

So he kicked me out of the shop.......
